Welcome Calga!! A customised website for a customer who knew exactly what they wanted!

I recently built and launched Calga, a web platform designed to help caravan and lodge owners build more trust with their guests. The idea is simple: bookings stay where they already are, while Calga adds an extra layer for guest verification and stay feedback.

I designed and developed the full website, including the responsive desktop and mobile experience, user journeys, subscriptions, hosting and deployment. The aim was to make the platform feel secure and professional without making the verification process feel complicated or overly formal.

One of the key parts of the build was integrating an external identity-verification provider for guests. Rather than trying to build sensitive verification technology from scratch, Calga connects to a specialist service and uses the resulting verification status within the platform. This keeps the user journey simple while reducing the amount of sensitive identity data the application needs to handle directly.

Privacy was also an important part of the design. Owners can see the information that is useful to them, such as verification status and stay-review labels, while private guest details remain private.

Building Calga gave me the chance to work across the full lifecycle of a web product, from design and development through to third-party integrations, hosting and production deployment. The site is now live at www.calga.co.uk.
